Blockdot has decided to open up a new, virtual location. It has teamed up with Asahi Advertising and Fivestar Interactive to build the Blockdot gaming center in Second Life. People logged into the program/simulation/game can journey to Asahi Advertising’s G7 Island to visit Blockdot’s building.
Visitors to the gaming center can go to one of the game machines and play some of Blockdot’s casual games, originally found on the Kewlbox.com website. The gaming center opened June 11, 2008, and is Blockdot’s first Second Life location.
So, essentially this means that a new arcade is open in the Second Life world. It’s kind of an intriguing idea, the whole game within a game. Of course I’ve heard Second Life is more like a simulation or chat program rather than an actual game. But still, if you’re in Second Life and you have an urge to play Swig & Toss or Fowl Words, you can just head to Blockdot’s gaming center.
