BlizzCon 2009 is a go

by Danielle Riendeau on Feb 17, 2009 at 08:08 PM

World of Warcraft
You know, in this sea of utter crap that is our economy, it’s nice to see that certain cherished traditions will live on. BlizzCon - the official convention for all things Blizzard (you know, the maker of such fine games as Starcraft II and World of Warcraft) is officially on for next August. According to Joystiq the event is planned for August 21-22, 2009 at the Anaheim Convention Center, and the convention will sprawl across four halls (as opposed to last year’s three).

No specifics about the events have been released yet, but the Blizzard press release is listing

“Hands-on play time with upcoming Blizzard Entertainment games
Discussion panels with Blizzard Entertainment developers
Competitive and casual tournaments for players to showcase their talents
Community contests with great prizes
Commemorative merchandise based on Blizzard Entertainment’s game universes
A silent auction
More exciting activities and attractions to be announced”

WoW fans, ready your credit cards. Actually, you should ready your best medieval/Starcraft-y/Diablo-ish cosplay gear too, because BlizzCon is really the best place to get your geek on.
