As if it wasn’t bad enough that Starcraft fans learned the single-player campaign would be broken up into a trilogy, Blizzard Vice President of game design, Rob Pardo, had to make things worse.
In an interview with Joystiq, Mr. Pardo was asked how long of a gap there would be between releases, to which he responded: “So, you know with any luck, it would be like a year for each successive one, but that’s going to be a target date, that’s not a promise.”
With Starcraft II currently set for release sometime in 2009, a successive release would mean the campaign wouldn’t finish until 2011. That’s one long campaign.
There was also talk of pricing however nothing concrete was mentioned. But Mr. Pardo assures us that the following two campaigns would be treated as large expansions, not stand-alone products, and would be priced as such
So how about it Starcraft fans? Has this left a bad taste in your mouth or you taking every precaution to insure you live until 2011?
