OGPlanet’s latest free-to-play MMO, La Tale has just entered into the open beta phase. Its a fairly short open beta, however, lasting only until September 3, 2008. After that, the game will temporarily be closed down until September 18, 2008, the official launch date. MapleStory fans may want to take note, as La Tale also looks to be a customizable, adorable, MMORPG with a 2D perspective and active battles.
La Tale is designed to be an active MMORPG with easy controls, customizeable characters and quests that are easy to accomplish. You design an avatar that is a warrior, knight, wizard or explorer who is trying to uncover Stones of Iris and learn Iris Livier’s while journeying across different lands and fighting monsters. I have to say, it looks adorable.
La Tale also is a pretty small download, compared to other MMOs, with the client only being 553.42MB. Like most free-to-play MMOs, it is only for PCs running some version of Windows (Windows 98 or higher here) and DirectX 9.0c. Also - Voodoo graphics cards aren’t supported by La Tale, so even if you meet all other requirements, you won’t be able to play if that’s what you’re relying on.
I’m thinking this is a MMORPG to check out. It looks good, graphically speaking, its a small download (compared to other MMOs that is) and its free. Plus, if you get tired of it, its easy to quit.
