PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be able to enjoy even more 2D battling goodness soon. Aksys has announced that BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, the sequel to the very successful BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger is in the works and will be out sometime in Summer, 2010. So Super Street Fighter IV is going to have some company this season.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift sounds like it takes all the best parts of BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger, and then adds in a lot of good, new, extra stuff! For example, there are Beginner, Tutorial, Challenge and Legion Modes. Beginner and Challenge both change how the game is played to make it less or more complicated, Tutorial lets you practice and Legion lets you take over Kagutsuchi in a fighting/strategic manner.

There will also be character changes. The returning characters will all be very similar to the way they were in Calamity Shift, except there’ll be more moves for each of them. There will also be three new characters, ?-12, Hazama and Tsubaki.

And, of course, there’ll be plenty of multiplayer options. There’ll be offline and online multiplayer matches. Also, there’ll be the ability to watch matches and talk with other players.

All in all, it’s great news for fighting fans! Between BlazBlue: Continuum Shift and Super Street Fighter IV, every PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be covered.
