Australians and New Zealanders can play Mabinogi

Nexon has opened up Mabinogi to more regions. As of June 20, 2008, people from Australia and New Zealand can now register and play the casual, life-sim MMORPG. Previously, Mabinogi was released in North America on March 27, 2008, after being available in Korea since June 2004 and both Japan and China since early 2005.
Residents of Australia and New Zealand who wish to register for the game can visit the official Nexon site to download the client and create an account. They can then begin enjoying the casual life simulation MMO and interact with North American users.
A European release of Mabinogi has not yet been announced, but it wouldn’t be unlikely. After all, if the game is open to Australia and New Zealand, then Europe can’t be far behind. Nexon did bring MapleStory to Europe. Of course, Europe never received Audition Online, so maybe its residents won’t have the opportunity to play Mabinogi.

on August 12, 2008 at 10:30 AM - LINKThat makes no sense! They say that it wouldn’t be unlikely that Mabinogi comes to Europe. And then they say that maybe we don’t get the opportunity to play, cuz’ Audition didn’t come to us from NEXON. Audition came to alaplayer, so it’s got nothing to do, with the release of Mabinogi, right?
Actually, there is a reason for the difference:
Nexon didn’t create Audition Online. T3 Entertainment did, and Yedang Online published it. Nexon is one of the many distributors for Audition Online.
However, the fact that Audition Online wasn’t released by Nexon in Europe only has some impact on the possibility of a European Mabinogi release. Mabinogi was developed by devCat (part of Nexon) and published by Nexon. Also, I’m almost positive that Nexon is the distributor for South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Australia, New Zealand and North America. So if Mabinogi is going to make it to Europe, Nexon would be the ones to bring it there. If Nexon decides not to, then since Nexon’s the creator it may not get distributed by another company. We’ll have to see in the coming months what happens.
