AT&T customers can also become Guitar Heroes

by Jenni Lada on Mar 5, 2008 at 01:30 PM

Guitar Hero Mobile screenIn 2007, Verizon Wireless customers gained the ability to download Guitar Hero Mobile to their phones for a small fee. Now in 2008 it is AT&T’s turn. AT&T customers can now follow the instructions on the Guitar Hero Mobile site to purchase and download the game for their phone. There are two purchase options, $7.99 unlimited use or $3.49 monthly subscription.

There are a few good and bad changes for the AT&T release. The bad is that songs are MIDIs rather than MP3s like in the Verizon version. The good is that there are better graphics and additional songs download permanently to the phone. A questionable addition is a new vibration function, where if you miss a note the phone vibrates. It is a surprisingly full game for a cell phone release. When you first download the game, it comes with 15 songs, three locations, four Gibson guitars and quite a few characters. Also on the first of each month three new songs are added. However if you sign up now, you don’t get the three songs for March. Only people who signed up before March 1, 2008 gained access to them.

The following are the 15 tracks included with the game download:

  1. Santana - Black Magic Woman
  2. Wolfmother - Woman
  3. AFI - Miss Murder
  4. Red Hot Chili Peppers - Suck My Kiss
  5. Alice Cooper - School’s Out
  6. Pat Benatar - Hit Me with Your Best Shot
  7. Van Halen - You Really Got Me
  8. KISS - Strutter
  9. Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub Rock
  10. Stone Temple Pilots - Trippin on A Hole
  11. Matchbook Romance - Monsters
  12. Motley Crue - Shout at the Devil
  13. Black Sabbath - Paranoid
  14. The Allman Brothers Band - Jessica
  15. Scorpions - Rock You Like A Hurricane
