I just picked up the latest Atari Catalog (CO16725-Rev. E) at Sears. It lists 49 games, four of which are completely new from the previous catalog (CO16725-Rev. D). It also has a section in the back with a few accessories for storing games and a bigger, better picture of the Game Center storage case.

The last page also features “Coming Attractions” that include a yet-to-be-named football game that will have “life-like pro players,” a baseball game and a “jolly version” of video volleyball. Atari is also promising an updated version of Combat (Combat II or maybe Revenge of Combat?) and a “gripping” adventure game in two installments in October and November 1982.

The four news games are:

Demons to Diamonds - Coming July 1982 and listed in the “Skill Gallery” section. It includes six different games for one or two players. It is described as, “a new sort of shooting game.” The screen shot in the catalog looks like a cross between Air-Sea Battle and Space Invaders!

Berzerk - Coming August 1982 and part of the “Space Station” section. It has 12 games but is only for one player. It’s amaze style game where you have to shoot your way through each level, killing off a relentless “gang of robot thugs.” They look pretty big, too. The evil leader is Otto who sends endless bad guys - bugs, robots, both!? - to prevent you from making it through the giant maze.

Star Raiders - Coming out September 1982 and part of the “Space Station” section. The screen shot for this game looks amazing! It’s aone-player game with four levels, but it’s an epic space battle where you have to save the galaxy. You command the the Atari Force and warp through the galaxy to blast the evil Zylon fleet and save your star base. It even comes with a comic book! I can’t wait to try this one, especially if it is any where near as good as the Atari 400/800 version. I’m putting that on my Christmas list fer sure.

Math Gran Prix -Available July 1982 and part of the “Learning Center” section. This comes with nine different games for one or two players. It’s a children’s game that combines math and racing, so it might be kinda fun it you’re, like, six years old.

The accessories are those featured in the earlier catalog. The biggest is the Game Center that features a pull-out drawer for storing games and paddles, the Atari Game Program Case which holds 8 game cartridges and the Atari Modular Catridge Library, a standup wood-grain mini shelf unit that holds 14 games and several game manuals.
