Gamescampus.com and MaxOn Soft Corporation will be bringing the free MMO Asda Story to North America before the end of Fall 2008. Asda Story, not to be confused with Pi Story, was originally launched in both Korea and Japan, and was very successful - especially among women.
Apparently, the Soul Mate and Real Costume Systems found in Asda Story made it popular among female players. The Soul Mate System allows players to become soul mates, which means that they will be able to use special skills and wear special costumes that are unavailable to normal players. Supposedly there are also ties between players who are in Party, Clan and Camp, which would make Asda Story‘s interaction options run even deeper. As for the Real Costume System, it lets players use Sowel items to customize their armor, weapons and items so their characters are more individual.
While the whole “costume” aspect does seem a bit girly, the rest sounds kind of cool. Aeria’s free MMO Dream of Mirror Online has a soul mate system within it as well, but it sounds like Asda Story‘s offers a different take on it.
