The Apple App Store gaming update is Gamertell’s weekly look at the previous week’s App Store game releases. We cover them all - good and not so good - in their respective categories with a breakdown of the great games and the free games right where you want ‘em, at the top and in your face. The list is available every Monday, right as you are about to start that long work week.

The best part of your week has finally arrived!

This week brought us a healthy amount of gaming apps including this week’s highlight: Wolfenstein 3D Classic. id’s John Carmack has been particularly noted for his desire and belief of games on the iPhone and iPod Touch and this should be the first of what many fans are hoping will be many games from the id team.

Also released was Mega Man II. Capcom finally decided that enough was enough with the game show games and released a real game on the App Store. Unfortunately, that game was Mega Man II. It may just be me but releasing a game that may make you want to throw your iPhone across the room in blind anger might not be the best release decision (but keep trying, Capcom).

Dates for the World Wide Developer Conference, or WWDC, have been set for June 8-12, 2009. The WWDC is where Apple likes to unveil big things, such as last year’s announcement of the iPhone 3G and the App Store. This year’s guesses range from Apple Tablet to Snow Leopard (the next Mac OS) and maybe even a new iPhone. Where are your bets placed readers?
