We already know that the late great Jimi Hendrix will not only have his music in the new installation of Guitar Hero: World Tour, but also his likeness. Yet, it seems that Activision isn’t stopping at having just a few songs of the legend in their upcoming title.
Velvet Revolver’s guitarist, Slash, revealed to Rolling Stone that Activision is at work on a Hendrix special edition game similar to what it did with Aerosmith. This hasn’t been confirmed by the folks at Activision and the only source for this story is Slash, who has been working closely with the company since Guitar Hero III.
This isn’t the only special edition game that will eventually be released, as a Metallica spinoff is also in the works.
Both are expected after the October 2008 release of Guitar Hero: World Tour, which probably means don’t expect either games until next year.
