Florida teen finds rocks in Nintendo DS box
Imagine walking into a WalMart, plunking down $150 for a DS game system and walking out with $150 worth of rocks in a small box along with some Chinese newspaper. Well that’s exactly what happened to Jodi Wykle in Florida.Wykle purchased a Nintendo DS for her teenage son’s birthday - an awesome gift - but when he opened the box to pull out the handheld all he got was a box full of rocks wrapped up in some Chinese newspaper.
As if that was bad enough, when she tried to return it to WalMart they told her it wasn’t there problem and that she would have to call Nintendo. When she contacted Nintendo they felt the same way and also wouldn’t return it for her. So here she is, $150 worth of gravel and paper.
Eventually WalMart agreed to the return when, get this, they found out someone returned the same box before because it was full of rocks. Seriously? Why did it go back out on the shelves?
She also received a $20 gift card for her troubles.
So here is a lesson to you: The next time you purchase a game system, give the box a little shake and hear if it sounds more like a game system or a box full of small rocks.
