500,000 join zOMG!‘s open beta during the first week
Just got word from Kate Pietrelli at TriplePoint that the crew over at Gaia Online are pleased with the more than 500,000 players who have joined to play zOMG!
“Hi Lucy. Hope all is well with you. I just wanted to give you a heads up about our recent announcement that the Gaia Online casual MMO just reached over 500,000 players in Open Beta! So exciting!” Pietrelli said.
A majority of the new Gaians joined out of curiosity about zOMG! and, for existing Gaians, it’s a celebration to welcome new allies to join their crusades against the baddies.
“Positive feedback from satisfied players not only aids our team in modifying and ultimately perfecting the zOMG! gameplay experience; it is truly rewarding,” said David Georgeson, Senior Producer of zOMG! at Gaia Online. “After a lengthy development process, it’s almost surreal to watch players dig right into the storyline and begin realizing the game’s full potential.”
zOMG! is an epic Gaia Online adventure where Gaians work together or alone to discover what is going on in Gaia through quests, engaging battles with monsters and solving the mystery of zOMG! Its an interesting environment where inanimate things such as plungers, dolls and garden gnomes have taken a life of their own, and have begun attacking the local towns and villages throughout the world of Gaia. Since its launch November 6, 2008, more than 500,000 players populated the world of zOMG! and began their journey.
It was no surprise that zOMG! would become successful since Gaia Online has been a thriving destination for years, boasting more than seven million monthly members who participate daily in Gaia’s forums and virtual goods marketplace.
Good community, good people and tons of fun awaits all Gaians. Come join the game and let’s play together.
