Released for the PC on May 20, 2008, for $49.99, Age of Conan’s developer Funcom told Gamespotthat more than 400,000 gamers have entered into the world of Hyborian within the first few days of the game’s release.
For many MMOs just reaching one hundred thousand players is a milestone. With the early success of AOC, it is clear that gamers worldwide may be looking for a new world which they call their second home beyond just the realm of Azeroth.
Conan the Barbarian, created by writer Robert E. Howard in 1932, has been around for quite some time now. After two films and countless comic books, fantasy books and previous video games, Age of Conan is the first time that the barbarian king has stepped into the realm of MMORPG.
Age of Conan is also due for an Xbox 360 release in 2009.
