Everyone’s very excited for this year’s edition of the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX), which kicks off today ( August 29, 2008) in Seattle, WA. But what’s even more exciting for this Bostonian is the news that 1up just broke that a new PAX show will debut in Boston in 2010. The new show will “complement” the west coast version, and Penny Arcade creators Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulik reportedly chose beantown because they’ve wanted to return to the city ever since a presentation given at M.I.T. a few years ago. Wise choice, guys.
As the city that hosts powerhouse developers like 2k Boston (Bioshock) and Harmonix (Rock Band), as well as yours truly, I’m excited that Boston will finally have a videogame event worth talking about. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go run around Fenway park jumping for joy.
