There are few feats in sports tougher than pitching a perfect game (one in which no member of the opposing team reaches base) in pro baseball.
It’s so tough, in fact, that 2K Sports will award a cool $1,000,000 to the first player to do so in MLB 2K10 on Xbox 360 or PS3.
Gamers will have 60 days to attempt this starting 12:01 a.m. (PST), March 2, 2010, and ending 11:59 p.m. (PDT), May 2, 2010.
To enter the contest you need to play against the computer in the game’s “MLB Today” mode which will automatically establish all the proper gameplay settings. You will also need to record the entire game and put it on DVD. There are, of course, more rules than that you’ll need to read.
2K Sports is getting help from Twin Galaxies, the group famous for verifying video game records or decades. (If the Billy Mitchell wins this contest, I am so calling shenanigans.)
MLB 2K10 hits Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, PSP, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS and PC on March 2, 2010, so get your fastballs, sliders or knuckleballs ready to go.
