Bioshock receives new downloadable content
Take Two has just announced new downloadable content for underwater FPS Bioshock, including new plasmids, tonics, achievements and interface upgrades. All content is available through a free download on the Xbox Live marketplace.
Gamers still exploring the world of Rapture can now use new plasmids and tonics (the deep power-up system in the game) such as Sonic Boom (which hurls enemies and objects back with a blast of force), EVE saver (which enables plasmids to use less EVE), Machine Buster (which increases the amount of damage dealt to bots, cameras and turrets), and Vending Expert (which reduces prices in the vending machines).
Additionally, the “brass balls” achievement can be earned by beating the game on hard without dying. A widescreen option has also been added.
It’s nice to see new content appear in a game that’s been out a few months, adding some replay value. Bioshock is good enough to warrant a few playthroughs regardless of these upgrades, the new goodies just provide a little added incentive.
