Apogee springs back into action, teases us with Duke Nukem

Apogee Software Ltd has woken up from its deep slumber and announced Duke Nukem Trilogy for PSP and DS handhelds. But it hasn’t bothered with any worthwhile details of Duke Nukem Trilogy, and there is no word on Duke Nukem Forever that has been in development for the past 11 years. All we know is that Apogee will start releasing new Duke Nukem chapters beginning Summer 2009 for the two handhelds. The three chapters are named Critical Mass, Chain Reaction and Proving Ground.

Overenthusiastic female Wii-exercisers in UK are relentlessly sabotaging their own houses. According to an intriguing study by British insurance company Sheila’s Wheels, female Wii Fit gamers in the UK are responsible for cumulative damage worth £20.1 million ($40 million) to their homes.

PS3 break apart controller with motion sensing and accelerometers The videogames media is abuzz with rumors of a new, groundbreaking PS3 controller that will “break apart” into two separate units. Sony hasn’t commented on the news but industry insiders expect an official announcement during this year’s E3. If such a controller does materialize, it would be the third controller for the PS3, the most for any single console. SIXAXIS and Dualshock 3 are the two PS3 controllers currently in use.

Nyko Kama NunchukNintendo has been riding high on Wii’s success but every now and then it has to worry about things like piracy and trademark infringement to protect its position. Currently on its radar is leading Wii-peripheral manufacturer Nyko, which has also benefited from Wii’s success. Sony has constantly been trying to improve the Playstation Network, as the online experience plays a pivotal role in this era of gaming. One of the newest additions to PSN is Playstation Home, an interactive 3D world for PS3 users, currently in closed Beta.

Now Sony has made one more place available for Home users to explore when they decide to get out of their virtual apartments. Playstation Media and Events Space is a venue for virtual events within Home, which recently allowed some of the Home’s “closed beta” users to be part of Playstation Day on May 6, 2008, from their living rooms (or mother’s basement)....
