Rumor: Ghostbusters game to be resurrected by Atari

GhostbustersOnce again proving my point that if 50 Cents’ Blood on the Sand can be picked up, then somebody would eventually pick up Ghostbusters.  Our fine friends over at Kotaku have posted that Dan Akroyd, or as anyone from the eighties would know him as Raymond Stantz, has stated to a local Dallas radio station that the game has been picked up by Atari.

TGS 2008: Halo 3 Recon

halo 3During Microsoft’s keynote address at the Tokyo Game Show 2008 (October 8, 2008), it was revealed that Halo 3 will be expanded upon, with Halo 3: Recon.

No longer will you play as the heroic Master Chief, as players will now control a UNSC recon soldier. 

The expansion will serve as a prequel to the events leading up to Halo 3 and will feature a new campaign.  The expansion’s release tentatively Fall 2009, so check out this impressive trailer from the convention…

Nintendo confirms new DSi handheld game system, announces features

At a press conference earlier today (September 2, 2008) in Tokyo, Nintendo unveiled its new hand held console, the DSi.  The newer version of the DS will no longer have the Game Boy Advance slot (how will I ever get to play Tetris again!?) and will feature a bevy of new upgrades.

PeppersHarmonix has announced that the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ 1991 album, Blood Sugar Sex Magik will be released as downloadable content (DLC) for Rock Band and Rock Band 2

Xbox Live scheduled to shut down for maintenance September 29, 2008

According to Microsoft’s Larry Hryb, aka Major Nelson, not only will Xbox live be unavailable but so will the “My Xbox” section of Xbox.com and the forums will be in read only mode.
