Electronic Arts earnings report wrap-up
EA’s Q3 earnings report yielded a wide array of news yesterday. In addition to all the big numbers being thrown left and right, a lot of game announcements were made too. EA’s 2011 fiscal year ends March 31, 2011 so these games are expected to be on store shelves by then.
Spoiler Alert: Mass Effect 2 loyalty missions

One of the main plot points of Mass Effect 2 deals with gaining the loyalty of your crew. You gain loyalty by completing missions that are specific to each member of your squad. Some missions require you to make a big decision that will impact how your teams state of mind is.

My Shepard is Iron Man

Ace Shepard is a fan of Iron Man. When he’s not destroying Geth or hitting on shipmates, you can find him reading futuristic Marvel comic books and dreaming of a time when armor wasn’t so commonplace. Ace Shepard realizes that Tony Stark and War Machine are long dead and he’s the only one that can take up their mantel. Ace Shepard is Iron Man.
Spotted at GameStop: Splinter Cell: Conviction release date fail
Last Monday (January 25, 2010) I was at one of my local GameStop stores waiting for the midnight release of Mass Effect 2. In between discreetly staring at the weird hairstyles of other customers and playing New Super Mario Bros. Wii, I decided to take a look at the wall of new and upcoming releases. Did you know Splinter Cell: Conviction has been out for months? Neither did we.
Pre-order Just Cause 2, get lots of free content

A video released today (January 25, 2010) shows new vehicles, weapons and a new parachute for Just Cause 2 while demonstrating cool ways to integrate them into combat.
Screens: Kratos goes back to Hades

A few new screenshots of God of War III were released today (January 25, 2010). They show Kratos doing what he does best - killing Gods. Kratos is responsible for Killing Ares and Athena and now he’s set his sights on Hades.
Rumor: Sony confirms PS3 Arc? (Update)

The PS3 Arc was rumored to be the official name of the motion controller but was not confirmed or denied by Sony. PS3 Arc’s website carries a tagline of “Arc You Ready?” Interestingly enough this seems to be a throwback to the original PlayStation slogan that was, “You Are Not Ready.”
Xbox Live Zune Marketplace down for 24 hours
From 10pm (PST) for up to 24 hours, the Zune Marketplace will be inaccessible. Microsoft says it is working to improve the Zune Marketplace’s overall service on Xbox Live, but did not give any specifics on what that means. During this downtime you will be unable to rent or purchase videos from the Zune Marketplace. The library that you already have set up will continue to work just fine.
PopCap and Bungie raise more than $185,000 for Haiti
PopCap Games reached out to its community in an effort to help the relief process in Haiti. All proceeds made from purchases on PopCap’s site went to helping the people in Haiti. This charitable event appears to have been a great success with PopCap donating more than $80,000 to the cause.
Mass Effect 2’s Cerberus Network priced at $15

The Cerberus Network won’t be the only way to get downloadable content either. BioWare’s co-founder Dr.Greg Zeschuk revealed to Joystiq that DLC will also be made available for purchase through the Xbox Live Marketplace. Zeschuk also said not all of the content Cerebrus offered through the Cerberus Network will be free.
