DS-Wii connectivity planned for Animal Crossing: Wild World and City Folk
It’s nice to see the DS-Wii connectivity feature being put to good use. Nintendo revealed at the E3 2008 Nintendo Developers’ Roundtable that Animal Crossing: Wild World and Animal Crossing: City Folk will be compatible. Players with both games will be able to transfer their characters and possessions to the Wii version of the game, if they so desire.
Nintendo Everything reports that it may be possible for Wii owners without Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection to still send their characters to friends’ Animal Crossing: City Folk towns. Allegedly, people will be able to use DS units and Animal Crossing: Wild World to transfer Animal Crossing: City Folk data to a friend’s Wii.
E3’s a party with Viva Piñata:Pocket Paradise around
Rare and THQ’s portable pet game, Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise made an appearance at E3. Its debut at the convention meant more screenshots and information on the portable version of a series made popular on the Xbox 360. Players are able to raise piñatas and care for them - definitely not your everyday pet sim.
In Viva Piñata: Pocket Paradise, you’re able to engage in practically every activity you did in the Xbox 360 and PC versions of Viva Piñata. You raise pinatas, breed them, share piñatas and items with friends, go through training missions and attempt to have a bunch of happy, paper mache critters. There are over 60 different piñatas in the game, so it should keep people busy for a while.
Digimon World Championship shows off its gold at E3
The Digimon series has always seemed to take a backseat to Pokemon, but it showed at E3 that it still manages to get fans excited. Namco Bandai revealed at E3 that Digimon World Championship for the Nintendo DS has already gone gold. The latest game will focus on Digimon breeding and battling, and will also offer local and Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection multiplayer support.
Digimon World Championship makes players Digimon Tamers. You have to hunt them down in the Digital World, capture them by force (weapons and traps are mentioned), train them, breed them and then unleash them against friends or in 50 in-game competitions. The game will feature over 200 Digimon, which should make battling interesting.
Namco Bandai sings the praises of the Eternal Sonata PS3 edition at E3
If you’ve been wondering what extra goodies are included in the PS3 version of Eternal Sonata, then look no further. Namco Bandai issued a new press release during E3 detailing the changes to the RPG originally released on the Xbox 360. Eternal Sonata is a Japanese RPG starring Frederic Chopin’s, a 19th century composer, adventures in a dream world while he lies on his deathbed in the real world.
Owners of the Xbox 360 version of Eternal Sonata should be jealous. The PS3 version features two new playable characters, Serenade and Crescendo. It also adds new outfits for all of the existing characters and additional songs to the soundtrack. If cosmetic changes aren’t your thing, then perhaps new dungeons, some extra quests and extra endings would please you.
Marker Man and Doodle Dog stop by E3
Majesco’s been revealing lots of solid information on its forthcoming games, and Marker Man isn’t being left out. The DS game is a physics based, drawing, puzzle game for the Nintendo DS that is scheduled to be released in time for the 2008 winter holidays. Don’t let the simplistic title and story fool you, Marker Man sounds challenging.
Marker Man follows the adventures of, you guessed it, Marker Man. His pet, Doodle Dog, has disappeared. So now players have to help Marker Man manage his way through 150 puzzles to find his lost dog. This is accomplished by drawing geometric shapes on the touch screen to help Marker Man reach the end of each level.
