Amazon, Gamestop accepting LittleBigPlanet pre-orders
Last week (August 5, 2008) SCEA marketing manager Mark Vallador wrote a post on the PlayStation Blog about some interesting items that will be given out to anyone who pre-orders LittleBigPlanet. At that time we didn’t know which retailers would be carrying each item but now we do (well two retailers anyway).
It’s important to note that each retailer will carry one specific item for this promotion so choose wisely. If you want to get your paws on the official LittleBigPlanet Creator digital miniguide, you must pay a visit to…
Sony hopes LittleBigPlanet, related incentives will help sell PS3s
When talking about potential blockbuster PS3 titles for 2008, chances are LittleBigPlanet‘s name will come up. LBP has demonstrated its originality and creation possibilities several times over the past year and Sony is giving it a big marketing push as its release draws closer. LBP is looking to be a big time system seller for Sony because it appeals to a wide variety of gamers. Early previews have also noted LBP‘s ease of use and wide array of clever gameplay.
SCEA marketing manager Mark Valledor confirmed Sony’s dedication to the game in an interview with Advertising Age:
“We have coined 2008 ‘the year of the PS3’ and are confident that with the launch of “LittleBigPlanet,” we will continue to see the momentum build throughout the end of this year and on to the next…

By now I’m sure all you Trophy hounds out there have your hands full gathering the numerous digital accolades of PixelJunk Eden and Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. It doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to rest anytime soon because there are more Trophies to be had in Buzz! Quiz TV. The next time you boot the game on your PS3 you’ll be prompted to update the game with the latest patch.
The game has 18 Trophies (three groups of 6) that we know of and there’s a possibility that six more hidden Trophies stashed somewhere on the disc. Only after discovering those will you be able to unlock the coveted…
LittleBigPlanet pre-order treats entice the mind
The hype machine behind the PS3 exclusive title LittleBigPlanet continues to pick up steam as we near closer to its October 2008 release date. We know of several truly unique gameplay features such as the ability to capture images using the PlayStation Eye and placing them into the game, YouTube upload support and, of course, Trophies.
As if creating unique stages from scratch with friends online wasn’t enough to warrant a purchase, SCEA’s Marketing Manager, Mark Valledor, posted on the PlayStation Blog telling of goodies that will accompany LBP pre-orders…
Aladdin’s Genie to host Disney Th!nk Fast
Disney Interactive Studios and Magenta Software is going to be releasing a family quiz game for the Wii and PS2 for the 2008 holiday season. Disney Th!nk Fast is going to be a quiz game (like Buzz!) hosted by Aladdin‘s Genie. Like the Buzz!, the PS2 version will come with four buzzer controllers.
While Disney Th!nk Fast is billed as a quiz game, it will consist of both trivia questions and mini-games. Players will choose a Disney character as an avatar, then answer some of the game’s 5,000 questions in 15 rounds to see who really knows their Disney trivia. Also - to make the game playable for all ages, all multiple choice questions will have picture answers so no-one is left out.
PopCap survey indicates kids with ADHD may benefit from casual games
It’s difficult for the parents of a child diagnosed with ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder) to find ways to control their child’s disorder and help him or her live a normal childhood.
PopCap Games recently contracted Information Solutions Group to conduct a unique survey in April 2008 in which 2,728 respondents (of the 13,296 casual gamers surveyed) indicated they or someone they are caring for has a disability…
The big deal about LittleBigPlanet and “coopertition”
Sony has been putting a lot of muscle behind hyping up LittleBigPlanet. It is one of the big name titles that is going to be released in October of 2008. From what we’ve seen LittleBigPlanet prides itself on being a seemingly endless experience. Just about anything can be created and shared through the PlayStation Network. It’s also one of the first games to heavily rely on user-created content.
Media Molecule coined the phrase “coopertition” when describing some of the unique stages…
You’re In the Movies wants to make you a star
Nearly everyone would love to be in a movie. The only problem is breaking into the business. Fall 2008 you’ll be able to take those aspirations and project them into You’re in the Movies on Xbox 360. You’re in the Movies is the Xbox 360’s attempt to appeal to a family-friendly market and what better way to do that than to laugh at your family as they convey horrible acting skills in front of everyone? All you need to play is the Xbox Live Vision camera (which is included with the game) and a sense of humor.
The game works by putting players into a series of mini games that record their actions. In the end, everything that’s done is placed into a short film and…

Get your LOL on
That multiplayer-only DS drawing game from Agetec, LOL is now available. But don’t all go running to stores to buy it - LOL is only going to be available through the official Agetec online store. The game is rated E and only $19.99, as shipping is free.
LOL is a lot like Pictionary. One person issues a challenge, and the other people have to draw or write a response to the challenge within a certain period of time. The host then shows everyone the submitted answers, and everyone votes on the best one. The winner creates a whole new challenge, and the game starts all over again. It never ends. People stay locked playing challenge after challenge until the DS with the LOL gamecard’s battery dies.
