by Kris Rosado on Nov 15, 2008 at 03:02 PM

video game awards logoAnother year and another Video Game Awards show. Better known as SpikeTV’s VGAs, this will be the sixth year for the show.

Love it or loath it the show will go on in full spectacle that will include a performance by rapper turned-video game character, 50 Cent, and a “Gamer God” award for Will Wright.

The list this year looks fairly promising without too much of one game in your face like last year’s seven nominations for a certain alien-shooting game and a game about an undersea dystopia.

Classic Prince of Persia gracing the Playstation Network

by Jason Townsend-Rogers on Oct 22, 2008 at 03:04 PM

The Prince takes on one of his many adversaries

When the original Prince of Persia saw release by Jordan Mechner in 1989, it managed to distinguish itself from other platformers at the time due to its real-time nature and punishing difficulty, the latter often frustrating novice players and really separating the men from the boys.

This classic adventure is now set to make its debut on the Playstation Network this Thursday (October 23, 2008). No additional features are known at this point, meaning that game may not come bundled with Trophies. However, it will provide players the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Prince before…

Where in the Playstation Network is Mortal Kombat II?

by Jason Townsend-Rogers on Oct 19, 2008 at 08:55 PM

Sub-Zero and Mileena duel to the death in Outworld

When Mortal Kombat II was released on the Playstation Network in April 2007, it was met with lukewarm praise from critics. Problems aside, the game was enjoyable in its own right, making its sudden disappearance from the Playstation Network all the more disappointing for Mortal Kombat fans…

Metal Gear Solif IV

As one of the Playstation 3’s defining exclusive titles, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots has long been the subject of multiplatform rumors that its creator, Konami’s Hideo Kojima, has consistently sought to deny by pointing to the game’s reliance on the PS3’s hardware and the Blu-ray disc format. Gamertell Review: Buzz! Quiz TV for PS3

by PJ Hruschak on Oct 14, 2008 at 03:33 PM

gamertell buzz quiz tv ps3 box artTrivia games are usually only as good as the questions. Get a game with questions that are either too easy or too hard and very few people will play the game more than once. Get the right level of difficulty and and a trivia game can be played until everyone has played so much, they inadvertently memorized the all of the answers.

Buzz! Quiz TV, a trivia video game wrapped in a hokey game show skin, not only offers an ample supply decently balanced questions but also promises to keep refreshing questions through online updates and user-created quizzes.
